charcoal on my face
hands are black as coal
back aches
neck is tense and sore
it's been a while since i've stared at the same little square inch for so long
erasing and marking a million times over
what i am visualizing is not becoming palpable
on the paper in front of me
covered in smudges and lines and marks

but it's okay. this is fun.
